POCHIN TURNS DREAM BEDROOM DESIGN IN TO REALITY
31/01/2008
It's every child's dream to design their ideal bedroom. From jungle themes to princess castles, the ideas are endless and limited only by imagination - and someone's chequebook. But one lucky Cockshutt Primary pupil is having their dream turned in to reality thanks to Pochin Homes.
Children from the Shrewsbury Road school – just a stone’s throw from Pochin’s new development, The Meadows – were tasked to put coloured pencils to paper to create their own personal vision of the perfect bedroom. 10-year old Jennifer Edwards, wowed the judges with her dream design ‘Funky’ and was today presented with a £50.00 WH Smith voucher by Pochin Homes interior designer Kate Airey, who will be turning her dream in to reality at The Meadows’ showhome.
Six year old Jack Pickett and nine year old Emma Shakeshaft also received runners-up prizes of £25.00 WH Smith vouchers each for their designs.
Kate said: “The children were given a very open brief to design their dream bedroom and I was looking to see good visualisations along with imagination and creativity. I certainly wasn’t disappointed! An amazing amount of effort had been put into all of the designs and it showed the children really enjoyed the project. Each design was lively, vibrant and their drawing skills put my artwork to shame!
“The winning design really is a girl’s dream bedroom, with bright pinks, hearts and flowers everywhere. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in and as a finishing touch I’m going to hand paint the word ‘funky’ in giant letters on the wall so Jennifer can truly see her dream bedroom come to life.”
Jennifer’s dream bedroom will be available to view at the showhome from summer 2008 and will remain in place until the development is complete.
